Panama Canal Expansion Delay: Assessing The Implications

Work on the Panama Canal expansion project, due to be launched in June 2015, has slowed following conflicts between the Panama Canal Authority and the consortium of companies overseeing the project concerning significant cost overruns in recent months. The work being undertaken on the Canal expansion project is about 70% complete, but further delays could threaten the launch of the whole project, which is already nine months behind schedule. This podcast features BMI's Head of Shipping And Freight Transport Analysis, Michelle Berman, along with Michelle Karavias, BMI's Global Head of Infrastructure, and Katherine Weber, of the Latin America Country Risk team, discussing the implications of the delays.
