Asian Invesment In Africa: More Than A Resource Play

The increasingly important economic relationship between Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa has been widely commented on, but remains poorly understood. Most analysis focuses solely on Chinese demand for African resources, when in fact investors from across Asia are pouring money into African industries as varied as automotives, telecoms, and consumer products.

The economic connections between Asia and Africa are the subject of a new BMI special report, 'Asian Investment in Africa: The Next Phase', which is now available in our online store. The report is based on research from BMI analysts in London, Singapore, and Johannesburg, and includes analysis by seven of our industry teams (Agribusiness, Automotives, Construction, Mining, Oil & Gas, Power, and Telecoms).

This week's podcast features two analysts who contributed to the report, John Ashbourne, from BMI's Africa Country Risk team, and Rahul Ghosh, the head of our Asia research team.
