World Bank Allocates KES1bn For ICT Projects

News: The World Bank has allocated KES1bn (USD12mn) for information, communication and technology (ICT) projects, including roadmaps and e-readiness projects, within the counties in Kenya. The money will be utilised in several phases, with the first USD100,000 to be used in setting up the basics of ICT deployment, such as simple equipment and staff. Further help will be asked from the private sector and other institutions. Each county will be required to come up with a plan detailing how it plans to use the money to help in the provision of infrastructure.
