Work Begins On GBP200mn Haymarket Scheme

News: UK-based firms Interserve and Tiger Developments have signed an agreement with Network Rail to begin enabling works and complete a number of key pre-lets for their GBP200mn (US$327.24mn) Haymarket scheme, in Edinburgh, Scotland. Under the agreement, preparatory works on the railway tunnels beneath the commercial development's four-acre site is scheduled to start in the week ending December 7 2013. Work is expected to be completed in about 12 months. 'We are looking forward to completing the underground works during 2014, allowing for above-ground construction to start in early 2015,' Interserve Development Director David Westwater said (theconstructionindex). On-site construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2014, with the first buildings' phase scheduled to be completed in 2016.
