News: UK-based Faroe Petroleum and the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate have announced the discovery of significant gas condensate with the 6407/1-6S exploration well on the PL475 licence in the Norwegian Sea. The 6407/1-6S well is the first exploration well to be drilled on the Rodriguez licence. The well was drilled by the Transocean Arctic rig. The companies intend to drill an appraisal well to establish the lateral extent and size of the discovery. Preliminary volumetric estimates the size of the find to range between 19 and 126mn barrels of recoverable oil equivalent.
