Wheat Harvest Quality Showing Improvement

News: The 2013 UK wheat harvest is showing signs of significant improvement in terms of quality relative to the poor 2012 crop, reports Agrimoney. The improvement in quality has been attributed to favourable weather during the harvesting period, in contrast with the excessive spring and summer rains of 2012. Farmers may struggle to receive a premi um for their crops, however, owing to a large volume of wheat having been imported for the current season, as well as expectations for a strong wheat harvest across the rest of Europe that restricts the export potential of the UK crop.
