Viettel Group Aims To Expand International Presence

News: Vietnamese state-owned telecoms network operator Viettel Group aims to expand its international presence to between 10 and 15 countries by 2015, reports Vietnam Investment Review, citing Viettel's Deputy General Director Duong Van Tinh. The operator will target Myanmar, Kenya, Venezuela, Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Argentina, Cuba and Swaziland. Meanwhile, Tinh stated that investments were uncertain and the operator has been shortlisted for the Myanmar telecoms licence tender. Viettel's total revenue reached VND141trn (US$6.78bn) in 2012, of which US$721mn was contributed from overseas markets. The operator also aims to raise overseas revenues to US$1.2bn in 2013.
