UASC Doubles Capacity On Transpacific

News: UAE-based ocean freight services provider United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) has increased its capacity on the transpacific by more than twofold in the last 12 months, reports GulfShip News, citing Hua Joo Tan, executive consultant at Alphaliner. The company is expected to double its capacity again in 2014, Tan said. The total capacity on the transpacific has expanded by 8% so far in 2013. Meanwhile, spot rates on the transpacific are presently as low at US$1,500 per twenty-foot equivalent unit.
