TomoTherapy makes its debut in Thailand and the Philippines

Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital (Chiangmai University Hospital) in Chiang Mai, Thailand and Makati Medical Centre (MakatiMed) in Manila, Philippines have begun treating patients with Accuray's TomoTherapy system, an 3D image-guided intensity modulated radiation therapy (IG-IMRT).

The TomoTherapy system allows Chiangmai University Hospital and MakatiMed to offer patients a non-invasive, personalised option for the treatment of tumours throughout the body, making these two hospitals the first-in-country installed sites of the TomoTherapy system in the ASEAN region. The fully-integrated, 3D image-guided intensity modulated radiation therapy (IG-IMRT) system allows clinicians to give each patient accurate and high quality individualised treatments specifically tailored to their needs. Unique helical delivery means a broader range of tumours can be treated, expanding options for more patients.
