Syngenta Acquires Società Produttori Sementi

News: Switzerland-based chemicals company Syngenta has acquired Italian seed company Società Produttori Sementi (PSB). Following the acquisition, PSB will incorporate its durum wheat breeding expertise with Syngenta's cereals research and development to improve innovation in high-quality durum wheat production, according to Syngenta's chief operating officer John Atkin. The move will enable growers in Italy to meet rising demand for pasta in the global market, which is worth USD16bn.
