News: A strike staged by train drivers in Australia had a minimal impact on the Port of Newcastle, according to a port agent, Gulf Agency Company (GAC). However, the 48-hour strike stalled coal shipments that were transported through rail to the Port of Newcastle. The GAC added that stockpiles at the facility also recorded a fall as 600,000 metric tonnes were not supplied to the port due to the strike action. The dispute has not been resolved, although there is no sign of additional industrial action, GAC added. The stoppage was terminated on February 11, according to the port agent.
