Statoil Shelves US$120mn Offshore Wind Project

News: Norwegian oil and gas company Statoil has shelved a US$120mn offshore power project in the US state of Maine. The project has been cancelled owing to Maine's legislative decision to reopen bids for offshore wind projects, reports the Portland Press Herald, citing an unnamed Statoil spokesperson. The company will focus on a similar project in Scotland, where the government has a clearer policy, according to the spokesperson.
