SingTel's Net Income Rises 3.5%

News: Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) reported a 3.5% rise in net income to SGD898.3mn (USD718mn) in Q4FY13/14, ended March 31 2014, amid declining sales at its Australian operations and the weakening of the Australian, Indian and Indonesian currencies against the Singaporean currency. Consolidated revenue fell 7.9% to SGD4.13bn (USD3.3bn) in Q4FY13/14. For the full 2013/14 financial year, group revenue decreased 7.3% to SGD16.85bn (USD13.47bn), while net profit grew 4.1% to SGD3.65bn (USD2.92bn). The operator's total mobile subscriber base increased 10% y-o-y to 514mn at the end of March 2014.
