Sihanoukville Autonomous Port Posts 14% Increase In Cargo Shipment

News: Cambodia's Port Autonome de Sihanoukville posted a 14% y-o-y increase in cargo shipment to 112,200 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in January-May, compared with 98,500TEUs in the same period a year before. The rise is likely to be attributed to an increase in business activity in recent months. The number of ships entering and exiting the port rose by 5% y-o-y to 419 ships in January-May, compared with 400 ships in the same period the previous year. Exports through the port mainly included garment and footwear production and agricultural products, while imports comprised consuming products, autos, construction materials, machinery, steel, steam coal and petroleum.
