Shipping Lines Sign Fair Winds Charter

News: Hong Kong's Fair Winds Charter has been signed by a total of 17 shipping lines in order to switch to low sulphur fuel. These shipping lines have agreed to extend their pledge for another year following an announcement of a plan by Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying regarding tightening of regulation. The industry has taken a decision regarding the extension of the voluntary switch for one more year after reorganisation of the fact that it takes additional time for rolling out the legislation for making fuel switch compulsory in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Liner Shipping Association's chairman Tim Smith, who is also the CEO of Maersk North Asia.
