Seadrill Wins US$319mn Jack-Up Deal

News: Norway-based Seadrill has signed contracts worth US$319mn for four new jack-up rigs and an extension for an existing jack-up rig. The four new rigs are the West Tucana, West Telesto, West Ariel and West Prospero. West Tucana will likely operate off the coast of Angola for two years with Chevron, while the West Telesto will work with Origin Energy, West Ariel with Eni Congo and West Prospero will work with JVPC. The company has secured a four-month contract extension from Eni Congo for its West Mischief jack-up unit.
