News: Rolls-Royce posted its highest ever sales growth in Kuwait in 2012, with its sole dealer in the country, Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive, reporting a 36% increase in sales of the ultra-luxury brand. The performance followed solid sales growth recorded in the past few years at the automobile dealership. Growth has also been attributed to the launch of the Phantom Series II range including the Phantom Saloon, Phantom Drophead Coupe and Phantom Coupe in the country.
BMI View: Typical of Gulf states, Kuwait tends to have strong demand across the sub-segments of the luxury market. The Gulf is a significant region for ultra-luxury carmakers, buoyed by the high net worth of many Arab residents. In the last few years, luxury brands have seen double-digit growth across the Middle East.
