Rise In DRC Refuges Affecting WFP Food And Drug Resources

News: A rise in recorded refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is stretching food and non-food resources, including pharamaceuticals, in western Uganda. Lydia Wamala, a UN World Food Programme (WFP) public information and donor relations officer in Uganda said the WFP has decreased food rations for some of the DRC refugees because of insufficient funding. The lack of funding has led to prioritisation of the limited resources according to acuteness of need, Wamala said.
