Rehau Begins Construction Auto Parts Plant In Györ

News: Germany-based plastics auto component supplier Rehau AG+ has started construction of its new EUR60mn (US$73.4mn) car bumpers plant in Györ, Hungary. The new facility is expected to begin the supply of parts to the nearby vehicle assembly plant of German car builder Audi in 2013. The company has received funding aid of about EUR3.42mn (US$4.2mn) from the EU and Hungarian governments for the project.

BMI View: BMI forecasts that Hungarian autos production will reach 390,104 units in 2016, having more than recovered to its pre-crisis levels. After a 4.1% contraction in 2011, there is scope for a recovery in the years to come.
