President Opens Housing Project

News: South African President Jacob Zuma will officially open the Cornubia integrated human Settlements development project worth ZAR25bn (USD2.35bn) in Ottawa. Once completed, the project will yield 28,000 mixed income housing units, light industrial factories, schools, retail parks, several businesses and recreational parks. The project is expected to create about 48,000 sustainable employment opportunities over 15 years. The proximity to the King Shaka International Airport will increase job prospects for the project beneficiaries. The project is a joint venture between the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Human Settlements and Public Works, eThekwini metropolitan municipality, the National Department of Human Settlements and Tongaat Hullet Development.
