Piramal Adds Three Diagnostic Devices To QDx Portfolio

Piramal Healthcare's diagnostic division launched three devices in the QDx range Right-here-Right-now:

• QDx A1c: India's first voice guided diagnostic device that measures HbA1c, the diabetes detection marker that measures diabetes under three minutes. The accuracy level of the QDx A1c results command less than 2 per cent CV. These tests are performed by diabetologists and endocrinologists in clinics, hospitals, labs etc.

• QDx HemoStat: detects the level of haemoglobin in five seconds. It is a hand-held device to quantify the levels of haemoglobin & haematocrit in blood, based on electrochemical biosensor technology that helps in monitoring levels of haemoglobin and haematocrit in blood. It is used for patients undergoing chemotherapy, dialysis etc. The main USP of the product is its unique strip technology which has a big grip and is more hygienic than its counter parts.

• QDx VitD: believed to be the world's only device that helps detect vitamin D in ten minutes.

The three ODx devices are portable and affordable, delivering quantitative test results with lab accuracy. The devices can be operated very easily with minimal training requirements. The soft launch for all three products is scheduled in July 2013 and followed by three months of test marketing phase.
