Philips launches Healthcare Tansformation Services business

Philips has launched a healthcare transformation services business, which, in collaboration with healthcare service providers, will offer consulting services to improve the operational and financial performance of hospitals and health systems and improve patient outcomes across the continuum of care, from diagnosis to treatment and after care at home. The new global business unites Philips Healthcare's existing portfolio of services in consulting, education, design and other areas of strengths, to better serve its customers. Philips Healthcare Transformation Services will focus on the following five areas:

• operational performance improvement for healthcare systems, including hospitals;

• management of high-cost patient populations, for example, in cardiology and oncology;

• business model solutions such as managed equipment services;

• improvement of patient experience and staff productivity through the design and implementation of ambient healing environments; and

• enhanced training and education services.

The new business unit will target markets where Philips has a strong base in consulting services that form the basis for further expansion.
