Petra Sells Exceptional Blue Diamond For US$25.6mn

News: Jersey-based Petra Diamonds has sold an 'exceptional' 29.6 carat blue diamond, which was recovered in January from the Cullinan mine in South Africa, for US$25.6mn. The company sold the diamond, following a 'highly competitive' sales process, to South Africa-based Golden Yellow Diamond, which bought it on behalf of US-based Cora International. Petra CEO Johan Dippenaar stated that the stone is one of the most important blue diamonds ever recovered, reports Mining Weekly.
