Paranapanema To Transport Shipments Using Ocean Freighters

News: Brazil-based copper producer Paranapanema will use ocean freighters instead of trucks to transport domestic shipments following hijacking of 15 of its truck loads in 2012, reports Bloomberg, citing the company's interim CEO Edson Monteiro. The company, which presently transports 65% of its domestic products by ships, intends to move 80% of shipments through ocean freighters by end-2013. Paranapanema is also considering shifting its Rio de Janeiro distribution centre closer to the port, Monteiro added.
