PAJ Confirms New Port On Goat Islands

News: The Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ) has announced that a Chinese seaport will be constructed on Goat Islands. A total area of 600 acres will be utilised for the port, which will be developed by China Harbour Engineering Company, according to PAJ Chairman and CEO Gordon Shirley (Jamaica Observer). The project will generate permanent employment opportunities for 10,000 people. Apart from the new port facility development, Kingston Container Terminal (KCT) will be expanded by 80 hectares and channel deepening will be carried out between Port Royal and the KCT.
