Ooredoo Plans To Invest US$15bn

News: Qatar-based telecoms operator Ooredoo has revealed plans to invest US$15bn in rolling out its telecoms network provided it wins one of the two licences in the ongoing tender process in Myanmar, reports DowJones, citing Ooredoo's Chief Strategy Officer Jeremy Sell. The company intends to roll out a 3G data network that would reach 90% of the population within two years. The operator would construct more than 10,000 base stations across Myanmar, primarily focusing on urban and town centre regions, Sell added.
