ONGC Begins Shale Drilling

News: Indian state-run energy company Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has started drilling for shale gas at the Kanteri village, Jharkhand, in eastern India, reports Times of India. The company has begun gas production from the Jharia belt in Dhanbad district and is expected to start commercial operations at the site shortly, according to an unknown company official. Three other villages in Jharkhand - Dangia, Taleswaa and Chemgara - were found to possess Kanteri gas reserves, the official added.
