Oman To Develop Duqm Power Project

News: Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) is likely to finalise plans for a potential Independent Power Project (IPP) at Duqm, Oman in 2014. The power plant is expected to have capacity between 300MW and 400MW. Currently, plans for the IPP do not include a transmission interconnection with the main interconnected system serving northern Oman, but it may be included in the future depending on demand development. The Duqm IPP is scheduled to start operating in 2018.
