Oil To Keep Flowing As Shutoff Averted
News: Sudan has withdrawn its threat to block oil supplies from South Sudan, reports Reuters. The move comes after the leaders of both countries met in Khartoum to discuss a resolution to cross-border tensions. At the summit, the two countries pledged to end all mutual conflicts. The Sudanese government had earlier issued a deadline of September 6 to shut down oil pipelines carrying crude from South Sudan. All bilateral commitments signed earlier between the counties would be honoured, including the transportation of South Sudan's oil through Sudan's facilities and ports, stated Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir.
