Nissan To Construct Engine Plant At Resende Industrial Complex

News: Japanese automaker Nissan Motor plans to construct a new engine plant within the Resende Industrial Complex in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro, according to the firm's president and CEO, Carlos Ghosn, reports Automotive World. The new engine plant, which is expected to open in 2014, will represent an investment of BRL140mn (US$60mn). The facility, which will have the capacity to produce up to 200,000 engines annually, is likely to create around 200 jobs. The 1.6-litre 16V flexfuel engine, which will be produced at the new plant, will equip the cars produced by Nissan in Brazil.
