News: Insurgents in Sudan have claimed responsibility for an attack in the capital of the country's major oil-producing state of South Kordofan on October 10 2012. The Sudanese army has been fighting SPLM-North rebels in South Kordofan since June 2011, shortly before South Sudan's secession in July 2011. Khartoum has accused South Sudan of backing the insurgents, an accusation it vehemently denies.
