News In Brief: Simba To Spud Block 2A In 2013

News: Canadian oil and gas company Simba Energy will spud its first well on Block 2A in north-east Kenya in 2013, according to managing director Hassan Hassan. The company recently completed a passive seismic survey of the block, which is believed to contain oil deposits of about 1bn barrels. Simba must complete one more 2D seismic survey before it can target a drill spot and procure a rig for drilling.
