News: The governor of San Juan province in Argentina, along with other representatives, conducted a meeting with German solar company Schmid Group regarding the construction of a solar panel factory in the area, according to the provincial government. The local government is seeking to construct a factory that would have an annual capacity to produce between 70MW and 100MW of panels. The leaders are also aiming to construct an adjacent research centre in order to come up with new technologies for the factory. However, the project's total investment is still unknown. A contract is likely to be signed by end-2012 or early 2013 with Schmid, with construction work to then start immediately.
