New Law Presented In National Assembly

News: A new 'law on drugs' will be presented in Armenia's National Assembly for discussion, with two major issues at the fore, according to Armenian Health Minister Derenik Doumanian. The first issue relates to the need to issue a licence for wholesale trade in medicines. On the one hand, local economists believe there is no urgent need to place an additional burden on the importer, although such a system is a necessity for international good manufacturing practices. Another issue relates to the price control of drugs, which can vary significantly and cannot be controlled, Dumanyan stated. The ministry needs to control both the upper limit and lower price limits, Dumanyan added.
