National Health Service To Postpone Data Scheme

News: The UK's National Health Service (NHS) England will postpone the rollout of its medical records database to increase public awareness and understanding of the scheme and its implications, reports Reuters. UK officials agreed to half the rollout until autumn 2014 to begin a publicity campaign in order to better explain the scheme and ensure that members of the public are aware of their right to opt out. The decision follows rising criticism of the scheme, while its supporters have commented that the benefits have not been properly explained. The delay has been welcomed by the British Medical Association.
