Mott MacDonald Wins Bangalore Metro Deal

News: UK-based Mott MacDonald has won a contract to provide architectural and detailed engineering services for the second phase of the Bangalore Metro rail project in India. The contract includes design of the east-west corridor extension, from Byappanahalli to Whitefield via International Tech Park. The extension, called Reach 1, includes 13 elevated stations, an intermodal transit hub at Byappanahalli and 16km of viaducts. The company will also design a 6.3km elevated viaduct in the Reach 4A extension from Puttenahalli Cross to Anjanapura township, comprising five elevated stations. The Reach 4A extension is scheduled to be completed in early 2017, while the Reach 1 extension is expected to be completed by end 2017.
