Mizuho Faces Lawsuits Over Collapse Of Mt. Gox

News: Japan's Mizuho is facing legal action over the collapse of bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox. The exchange lost more than US$0.5mn of clients' digital currency. The lender has been added as an offender to a present court case against Mt. Gox with charges of being part of a scam by providing banking services to Mt. Gox. The amended complaint filed by an Illinois resident Gregory Greene states that the lender held non-bitcoin currency on the exchange's behalf and its clients, and that he lost US$25,000 when Mt. Gox was shut down in February 2014. Besides, the lender was added in a class-action court case in Canada against Mt. Gox regarding an alleged lengthy security violation. Mt. Gox has filed for a US Chapter 15 bankruptcy. The bankruptcy protected the firm from lawsuits in the US.
