MIIT To Issue FDD-LTE Licences

News: China Telecom and China Unicom will receive licences for frequency division duplexing LTE (FDD-LTE) 4G mobile services from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on May 17. The services will be provided to 20 cities, initially. China Telecom and China Unicom seek to use a mixture of TD-LTE and FDD-LTE technologies for 4G services, while China Mobile intends to use a TD-LTE platform.
