Metro Vancouver Port's Cargo Volume Up 6% In H113

News: The Canadian Port of Metro Vancouver posted a 6% year-on-year (y-o-y) increase in cargo volumes to 66.4mn tonnes in H113. The port's total freight tonnage also rose by 7% y-o-y to 52.7mn tonnes in H113, with domestic tonnage climbing 3% y-o-y to 13.7mn tonnes. The rise in volume indicates growing demand for Canadian goods by Asian countries and strengthening of the country's economy. The port's imports climbed 4.3% y-o-y to 13mn tonnes in the reported period, while exports jumped 6.9% y-o-y to 53.3mn tonnes.
