Medical And Pharmaceutical Exports Fall By 12%

News: The Irish pharmaceutical sector saw a decline in exports in 2013. Exports of medical and pharmaceutical products decreased by 12% to EUR21.62bn (US$30bn), while imports of medical and pharmaceutical products increased by 8% to EUR451bn (US$574.58bn) in 2013. The decline in Irish goods exports has been attributed to a drop in pharmaceutical exports by American-owned firms, which accounted for 58% of merchandise exports in 2013.
