Mayor Approves Convoys Wharf Scheme

News: London Mayor Boris Johnson approved the GBP1bn (USD1.66bn) Convoys Wharf scheme scheme to build up to 3,500 new homes in Deptford. The scheme will create at least 1,000 jobs. The planning approval was granted by the mayor, subject to a Section 106 agreement, which requires the developers to assess the feasibility of erecting a replica of the seventeenth century warship as part of the regeneration scheme and come up with a scheme for Sayes Court Garden. The plans include building 525 affordable homes, as well as shops, restaurants and a riverside jetty park.
