The proposed crossover will compete with the new Audi Q5 and the Porsche Macan. The crossover is believed to be of a similar size to the new Audi Q5 and will use the Levante name. However, the automaker has not yet confirmed the reports. Further details on the proposed crossover will be provided closer to the launch of the model.
BMI View: Fiat has revealed it is looking to increase Maserati sales as much as 10-fold (to 50,000 cars a year by 2015) in a move which will not only see the luxury vehicle division playing a bigger role in the company's turnaround plan, but will also address some of the production issues in Italy. To a large extent, these expansions are aimed at tapping into growing global demand for luxury SUVs.
