Maryland To Invest US$1.5bn In Transport Infrastructure

News: The US state of Maryland is to invest US$1.5bn in the development of its transport infrastructure, reports Railway Gazette. This will include the construction of the new Red Line light rail system in Baltimore. Work is scheduled to commence on the 22.6km-long line in 2015. It is expected to commence commercial operations in 2021. The line will transport 54,000 passengers on a daily basis by 2030.
