Maanshan Port Registers 25% Rise In Container Throughput

News: The port of Maanshan in eastern China's Anhui province registered a 25% year-on-year (y-o-y) rise in container throughput to 8,204 twenty-foot equivalent units in January, reports TransREporter. In the reported period, foreign trade cargo volumes grew 61.2% y-o-y to 79,000 tonnes. However, total cargo volumes dipped 10.6% y-o-y to 5.76mn tonnes in January. This fall was driven by the closure of businesses during the Chinese New Year. Ore, mineral building materials, coal, steel and cement were among the main products handled by the port in January.
