Longreach Spuds Koba-1 well

News: UK oil and gas explorer Longreach Oil & Gas has announced the start of drilling operations at the Koba-1 well on its Sidi Moktar licence in the Essaouira basin, onshore Morocco. The well is being drilled with the Saipem-owned rig Drillmec Mas 7000, targeting the Lower Liassic and Upper Triassic clastic reservoirs. The Koba-1 well is drilled to a total depth of 2,700 metres, with drilling due to be completed in 50 days.

Longreach is the operator of the Koba-1 well with a 50% stake, working alongside partners ONHYM with 25% and Maghreb Petroleum Exploration with the remaining 25%.
