Lafan Refinery 2 Additional Construction Begins

News: State-owned Qatar Petroleum (QP) has commenced additional construction work at its Laffan refining complex in Ras Laffan Industrial City in the north east coast of Qatar, reports Oil & Gas Journal. The company laid a foundation stone for Laffan Refinery 2 (LR 2) on April 1 at a ceremony in Doha, according to a QP subsidiary Qatargas. The LR 2 refinery, which will be operated by Qatargas, will process untreated condensate from North gas field, producing as much as 60,000b/d of naphtha, 53,000b/d of jet fuel, 24,000b/d of gas oil and 9,000 b/d of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The construction of the refinery is expected to be completed by Q316.
