Klaipeda Port And Butinges Terminal Post Fall In Cargo Volumes

News: Lithuania's port of Klaipeda and Butinges Terminal together handled 6.5mn tonnes of seaborne cargo in January-February 2014, reports PortNews. The Klaipeda port registered a 10.8% year-on-year (y-o-y) fall in cargo handling turnover to 5.5mn tonnes in the reported period. In addition, the Butinges terminal posted a 37.2% y-o-y drop in cargo handling to 1mn tonnes in the same period. However, during January-February 2014, a rise of 167,100 tonnes in general cargo was reported, owing to higher turnover of containerised cargoes.
