Kaohsiung Port Records Box Volume Of 4.86mn TEUs


News: Taiwan's Kaohsiung Port registered box volume of 4.86mn twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in H113, reports Seatrade Global, citing figures from the port authority. The number of containers handled during the first six months of 2013 was similar to the volume transported in the first half of 2012. The port has aimed to transport 10mn TEUs of container throughput in 2013, according to David Cheng, habourmaster of the Kaohsiung Port. The port's throughput reached 9.78mn TEUs in 2012; its planning and management group is likely to decide on the throughput target for 2014 by the end of Q413, Cheng said.
