Inland Waterway Cargo Traffic Climbs 32.3%

News: Russia's inland waterways registered a 32.3% year-on-year (y-o-y) rise in cargo traffic to 9.73mn tonnes in January-April 2014, compared with 7.35mn tonnes in the same period of 2013, reports PortNews, citing the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency. In the reported period, domestic transportation grew by 96.9%. Foreign trade transportation also climbed by 18.6% in the first four months of 2014.
