ICTSI, Pilipinas Shell To Rescue Tacloban Port

News: International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI) and Pilipinas Shell have come together to sustain the operations of the Tacloban Port severely hit by Typhoon Yolanda, said Philippine Ports Authority General Manager Juan C Sta Ana. ICTSI has extended its interim contract with PPA by six months to ensure the smooth operations of the port while reconstruction work takes place on the port. However, ICTSI will be required to use its own equipment as the equipment of the port's existing cargo handling operator Leyte Integrated Port Services was damaged by the typhoon. Pilipinas Shell has agreed to donate PHP6mn (US$0.13mn) worth fuel, making its total donation to the port worth PHP12mn (US$0.26mn).
